History

This is the official site for the student chapter of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) at St. Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Our student chapter was founded in January 2014 and had its first official meeting on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

Mission & Values

The SAA student chapter is affiliated with the Society of American Archivists, a national organization devoted to promoting the values and diversity of archives and archivists. Our mission is to increase awareness about the archival profession, promote communication between students and local professional organizations, and offer opportunities for professional development through coordinating events and other activities related to archives.

Membership

Membership in the organization is open to all students currently enrolled at St. Catherine University and is free to join. If you would like more information, please attend one of our upcoming meetings or email the student chapter at saa@stkate.edu.

Meetings will be held on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. on the St. Paul campus, unless noted. Please email saa@stkate.edu to receive the most up-to-date information.

“Preserve Your Sanity” social hour follows every meeting at Tiffany Sports Lounge in St. Paul, Minnesota off Ford Parkway. The social hour is open to all!
